The Fastest Way to Gain Experience (That No One Wants to Admit)

Yo yo yo! Reader,

I had a comment this week that stuck with me.

Not because it was right…
But because it’s a belief so many people quietly carry.

It went something like:

“You need years of experience before taking risks… otherwise you’re just setting yourself up to fail.”

And I get it.

On the surface, that sounds logical.

Safe.
Responsible.
Measured.

But there’s one problem with that thinking…

Lets continue on...

It’s Backwards.

You don’t get experience…and then take risks.

You take risks…and that’s how you get experience.

The Lie That Keeps People Stuck

A lot of people are waiting.

Waiting to:

  • feel ready
  • know enough
  • be confident
  • have certainty

But here’s the truth:

You will never feel ready for the thing that actually grows you.

Because growth only happens when you’re:

  • uncomfortable
  • unsure
  • exposed

My Reality (Right Now)

This week was a strong one.

Momentum is building again.
Things are clicking.
We’re seeing wins stack up.

  • Big progress across the board
  • New opportunities opening up
  • New channels gaining traction
  • Stronger systems starting to form

And most importantly…action is compounding.

But Let’s Be Clear…

None of that came from waiting.

It came from:

  • trying things before I fully understood them
  • making decisions without perfect clarity
  • failing, adjusting, and going again

And yeah…

Sometimes that means:

  • lower profits short-term
  • mistakes along the way
  • learning things the hard way

But I’ll take that every day over standing still.

“But What If You Fail?”

You will.

That’s not the risk.

That’s the process.

The real risk is:

Spending years “preparing”… and never actually starting.

The Speed Advantage

Here’s what most people miss:

If you take action now…

  • you fail sooner
  • you learn sooner
  • you adjust sooner
  • you improve sooner

Which means… you win sooner.

Experience Isn’t Time

This is the big one.

Experience is NOT:

  • how many years you’ve been doing something

It’s:

  • how many reps you’ve done
  • how many problems you’ve solved
  • how many mistakes you’ve learned from

Someone can spend 10 years being careful…

And someone else can compress that into 12 months of real action.

This Week Proved It Again

The wins didn’t come from knowing more.

They came from:

  • doing more
  • testing more
  • leaning in when things were uncertain

And now?

We’re back in a position of:

  • momentum
  • opportunity
  • growth

But none of that happens without stepping into the unknown first.

Final Thought

If you’re waiting for experience before you act…

You’re waiting for something that can only be earned by acting.

So flip it.

  • Take the shot
  • Learn fast
  • Adjust quickly
  • Go again

Because the fastest way to gain experience…

is to earn it.

What else have I been up to?

  • just planning for the next 6 months
  • some home renos (adding a fence/hedge)
  • training for upcoming trail run
  • playing some OSRS

Cheers,

Chris!

Yo yo yo! Reader, This week reminded me of something I think we all forget from time to time... You can be doing all the right things and still have a bad day. You can be showing up. Doing the work. Following the plan. Making progress. And still look at the scoreboard and think: "What the heck happened?" That was my week. One day we were flying. The next day felt like someone had turned the tap off. Nothing changed. Same effort. Same process. Same commitment. Different result. And that's when...

Yo yo yo! Reader, This week felt like a reminder of just how quickly life can change when momentum starts stacking in your favour. Not overnight. Not magically. But through enough small decisions, enough uncomfortable moments, enough reps… that eventually things begin to compound. And honestly? That’s the part most people never see. They see the “best week.”They see the numbers. They see the excitement. But they don’t see the years spent trying to figure out how to even make $3,000 in a week…...

Yo yo yo! Reader, Another week. Another blur. And honestly… I think I’ve finally figured out why. It’s not because life is moving too fast. It’s not because there’s “too much going on.” It’s because… When you’re truly building something… standing still isn’t an option. And this week reminded me of that in a big way. quick side step... looking for last weeks newsletter? (here) Lets continue on... The Problem Isn’t The Problem… This week, I found myself asking a different question. Not… “Why is...
