The Next Chapter Starts Now!

Yo yo yo! Reader,

This week felt like one of those weeks where a lot happened, yet somehow it feels like nothing happened at all.

The days were packed. The warehouse was busy. There were wins, challenges, planning sessions, customer conversations, live shows, camera deals, warehouse changes, and more moving pieces than I can count.

Yet when I sit down to reflect, what stands out most isn't what happened this week.

It's what we're building for next week, next month, and next financial year.

Because after six years of building this business, I feel like we're standing on the edge of a completely new chapter.

Behind The Scenes

One of the biggest challenges of growth is that you can't stop the machine while you're rebuilding it.

The orders still need to go out.

Customers still need support.

Stock still needs to be processed.

The bills still need to be paid.

At the same time, you're trying to redesign workflows, hire new people, build systems, negotiate supplier agreements, restructure the business, and think months ahead.

That's where my head has been lately.

This week we:

  • Finalised the company structure paperwork
  • Continued planning our warehouse reconfiguration
  • Worked through multiple camera consignments and trade-ins
  • Expanded our eBay Live inventory pipeline
  • Continued discussions around additional consignment opportunities
  • Started preparing for EOFY and FY27 changes
  • Began planning for our next hire

A lot of the work isn't visible.

But often the work that creates the biggest results isn't the work people see.

The Lesson

Growth Creates New Problems

A few months ago, I was worried about finding opportunities (particular to eBay live).

Today, opportunities aren't the problem.

Execution is.

The challenge now is deciding which opportunities deserve attention and which ones don't.

Every opportunity looks exciting.

Every opportunity promises growth.

Every opportunity feels important.

But saying yes to one thing often means saying no to something else.

That's why one of the most important skills in business and life is learning what not to do.

Not every opportunity should be pursued.

Not every good idea should become a project.

Not every path leads where you want to go.

Sometimes growth is less about adding more and more about becoming increasingly selective.

What I'm Thinking About

I've spent a lot of time recently thinking about leverage.

How do we build something that doesn't rely entirely on me?

How do we create systems that keep working whether I'm present or not?

How do we continue growing while creating more freedom?

Those questions are shaping almost every decision I'm making right now.

The company structure.

The warehouse changes.

The new hire.

The hybrid model we're building.

The focus isn't simply generating more revenue.

The focus is building a business that can grow sustainably without requiring more and more of me every year.

Because if the business only grows when I work harder, that's not really growth.

That's dependency.

Numbers Corner

This week delivered some of our strongest eBay Live results to date.

eBay Live Results

  • Monday Show: $1,200+
  • Wednesday Show: $1,650
  • Thursday Show: $880
  • Friday Show: $1,980+
  • Highest ASP we've seen to date for a show this week
  • Strong repeat customer engagement
  • Continued growth in both sales and community
  • $5,714, being ~33% of the weeks Revenue

Weekly Performance (all sales)

  • Week ended as BEST week ever: $16,995
  • We may be edging close to a $60,000 month

The really exciting part isn't just the revenue.

It's the consistency.

A few months ago, eBay Live was an experiment.

Today, it's becoming a meaningful component of the business.

The Bigger Picture

A few months ago I was stressed.

Really stressed.

Sales were soft.

The future felt uncertain.

Every week felt like we were trying to push a boulder uphill.

Now?

The challenges haven't disappeared.

But the perspective has changed.

The company is moving forward.

The systems are improving.

The opportunities are growing.

The vision is becoming clearer.

There will absolutely be more difficult periods ahead.

That's business.

But this week reminded me that momentum compounds.

Sometimes you don't notice progress while you're in the middle of it.

Then one day you look up and realise you're much further ahead than you thought.

Question Of The Week

What chapter of your life are you currently building?

Not surviving.

Not maintaining.

Building.

What are the decisions you're making today that your future self will thank you for six months from now?

Because whether it's business, fitness, relationships, finances, or personal growth...

The future is being built by the actions you're taking today.

Keep showing up.

Keep stacking the wins.

And keep moving forward.

Chris

Yo yo yo! Reader, Some weeks you feel unstoppable. Other weeks feel like you're spending all your time reacting. This was one of those weeks. Trades didn't arrive when they were supposed to. Collections got delayed. Staff had family commitments. A camera return turned into a difficult customer situation. Rain made warehouse work harder than it needed to be. Even simple plans seemed to require three backup plans. A few years ago that would've completely thrown me. Now? It's just business. Also...

Yo yo yo! Reader, This week felt like a milestone. After weeks of planning, measuring, moving and reorganising, the new pallet racking finally went in. In less than an hour, one of the biggest operational projects we've tackled this year was standing in the warehouse and almost immediately, it started filling up. On the surface, it looks like shelving. In reality, it's capacity. Capacity for more stock. More consignments. More opportunities. More live shows. More moving parts. And judging by...
